About the role
This position is responsible for working at customer sites to provide on-site setup and installation of all EFI industrial inkjet printers. It involves working with customers regarding pre-installation requirements, assisting with unloading components, and positioning the printer in the customer's facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide periodic on-site troubleshooting and repairs on printers experiencing complex electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic problems.
- Uncrate the controller, print heads, remote cabinets, UV components, check electrical power and compressed air, perform initial setup, and adjust the printer.
- Thoroughly test the printer to ensure images meet factory standards.
- Coordinate and provide formal customer operator and printer maintenance training.
- Provide detailed technical feedback via EFI Inkjet Case Management System (CMS) during and after each customer visit.
- Manage a large service territory, including managing assets like parts, tools, and company information.
- Identify and qualify single-phase and three-phase power requirements.
- Work within tight spaces and physically contort to access components.
Requirements
- Minimum two-year technical degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, digital, and electronic technology.
- Minimum two years in field engineering positions servicing complex electro-mechanical devices and high-demand customer locations.
- Demonstrated customer management skills and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Ability to independently manage a large service territory, including effective management of assets.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems to the component level.
- Ability to provide telephone technical support and effectively communicate (telephone and email) with Product Service Engineers.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of RIPS, color theory, Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems, and basic networking protocols.
- Working knowledge of materials and chemicals used in the printing industry (highly desirable).
- In-depth knowledge of personal computers, industrial inkjet printers, large format printers, and/or presses and printing applications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including using critical alignment tools and holding tolerances of .001" frequently.
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 70lb.
- Ability to work within tight spaces and physically contort to access components.
Skills
- Technical proficiency in RIPS, color theory, and printing applications.
- Knowledge of high and low voltage wiring.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a large service territory.

Pay
$80,000 - $95,000 USD annually. Compensation is localized according to an employee’s work location.
Schedule
Demanding schedule, including travel up to 75% of the workweek and occasional weekend work to meet customer needs.
