Essential Responsibilities
- Performs installation and commissioning on drive systems, power systems, automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction.
- Performs troubleshooting activities at site locations during scheduled Port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective actions.
- Develops documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures, and executes customer training.
- Executes on-site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction.
- Identifies sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.
- Provides on-call support in response to customer calls for service.
- Affords support to engineering teams working on customer upgrade projects.
- Completes timely service reports and other administrative requirements.
- Performs work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
- May require extended hours / overtime during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
- Might require domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods of time.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university. OR Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 3 additional years of related industry experience. OR High School diploma or GED equivalency with a minimum of 6 years of related industry experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice.
- US Person with the ability to achieve security clearance for Department of Defense projects.
- Previous Marine Industry experience.
- Must be physically fit to be able to board vessels offshore.
- Must be able to pass a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET) and offshore survival course which includes activities in a swimming pool.
- Possesses leadership qualities that align with GE Vernova Way.
- Background in a customer facing position within a Service environment.
- Ability to execute increasingly complicated assignments, which require considerable engineering skill and creative ability and independent judgment.

- Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications.
