About the role
As a Field Service Engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring our customers' laboratory and process operations run reliably, safely, and at peak performance. You are the face of our service organization—bringing technical expertise, professionalism, and problem-solving skills directly to customer sites. Your work supports long-term customer partnerships and helps maintain the high standards associated with our products and services.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and network-connected products at customer sites.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory and process equipment.
- Diagnose performance issues and recommend solutions that improve equipment reliability.
- Provide customer training and technical guidance to enhance proper equipment use and preventative care.
- Respond proactively to potential issues to minimize downtime and unplanned business interruptions.
- Serve as a technical resource for colleagues and customers, occasionally mentoring other field engineers.
- Support high-volume customer locations with on-site calibration services.
- Ensure professional, timely communication and a strong customer service experience.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience servicing analytical or laboratory instrumentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Associate degree with experience also considered.
- 5–10 years of related equipment troubleshooting, calibration, or repair experience.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing software.
- Able to travel up to 75% of the time and maintain a valid driver’s license.
