Key Responsibilities

  • In-house: Participate in the assembly and testing of control panels before deployment; Configure, commission, and troubleshoot VFDs under controlled conditions; Collaborate with engineers to debug and refine electrical installations; Document panel assembly and testing procedures for future reference.
  • On-site: Supervise electrical contractors during the installation of control panels and associated equipment; Perform electrical installations under the direction of engineers and following established guidelines; Power up control panels and verify communication with connected machinery; Check Input/Output (I/O) points for proper operation and troubleshoot any discrepancies; Configure, commission, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for motor control applications; Understand VFD parameters and settings to ensure optimal performance of motors and machinery; Troubleshoot VFD-related issues, such as motor faults, communication errors, and parameter mismatches; Perform preventative maintenance on VFDs to ensure their reliability and longevity; Assist engineers with system commissioning, including program uploading, VFD parameter adjustments, and system testing; Train maintenance personnel on basic operation and troubleshooting of the control system; Document installation and commissioning activities for future reference; Maintain a safe and organized work environment; Build strong relationships with clients and provide technical support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in electrical technology or a related field, or equivalent experience; Two years of experience in industrial electrical installations; Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams; Strong understanding of basic electrical principles, including AC/DC power, motor control, and electrical safety protocols; Strong understanding of mechanical principles; Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial communication protocols is a plus; Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is highly desirable; Knowledge of motor control principles and applications is a strong asset; Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently; Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, clients, and contractors; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; Valid driver's license; Domestic travel requirement between 50-75%.
