About the Role

At Chart, we design and build some of the world’s most advanced cryogenic equipment. Our customers bring us challenges, and you’ll help create solutions from concept and design to installation and commissioning, supporting industries such as aerospace, clean energy, food and beverage, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Chart Weld Engineers to understand technical requirements in welding-related field repairs.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to facilitate all customer requirements based on the scope of technical offerings.
  • Track all costs associated with field repairs and site visits.
  • Travel to customer sites to oversee project management, including welding, testing, failure analysis, and more.
  • Study plant drawings, P&IDs, manuals (e.g., safety), and other documentation to assist with project management.
  • Coordinate pre-job activities, such as equipment shipments, setup, on-site certifications, and safety requirements.
  • Arrange site logistics for customer support requirements.
  • Coordinate outside services (e.g., Authorized Inspectors) for code approvals on repairs.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of tooling and consumables, adjusting based on job requirements.
  • Issue detailed trip reports covering all aspects of field repairs or site visits.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis as requested by customers.
  • Remain current with industry-required certifications.

Work Environment

  • Up to 50% travel, both domestic and international, with potential for extended field assignments.
  • Ability to work extended hours, shift work, nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
  • Capability to work in adverse settings and climatic conditions.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience with BAHX (Brazed Aluminum Heat Exchangers), preferably in a field support and maintenance role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to accomplish goals in a timely manner and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-moving project environment.
  • Organized and logical thinker with high versatility and empathy.
  • Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization, including customers.

Qualifications

BS or Associate Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
