About the role

The Field Sales Representative will proactively serve as the primary account manager and trusted advisor to our Confluence Genetics customers. You will manage and grow current seed dealer and licensee businesses, execute direct sales to strategic targeted farmers, recruit and sign prospects, develop long-term relationships, educate and coach distribution/licensing partners and contract farmers, coordinate with Confluence Genetics Seeds teams, manage day-to-day interactions, and represent Confluence Genetics at customer-focused events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow current seed dealer businesses in order to increase footprints and gain market share in strategic geographies.
  • Manage and grow current licensee businesses and portfolios.
  • Execute direct sales to strategic targeted farmers.
  • Recruit and sign prospects for new sales, licensing and end-user opportunities.
  • Develop, strengthen, and expand long-term relationships within the ag community that result in growing the overall Confluence Genetics business.
  • Educate and coach distribution/licensing partners and contract farmers through the IP process to capture maximum value from their contracts with partnering grain merchandisers.
  • Collaborate with Confluence Genetics Seeds teams regarding customer variety selection, seed sale, licensing, movement, etc.
  • Manage all day-to-day telephone calls, emails, etc., both internal and external.
  • Represent Confluence Genetics at customer-focused trade shows, field days, plot demonstration events, etc.
  • Handle crop and farm related issues within company policy and goals with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience with seed sales and/or sales account management. Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Agronomy, Crops & Soil Sciences or other related Ag field. Attention to detail. Strong relationship and sales skills. Collaborative problem-solving skills. Results-oriented. Able to travel up to 50% during critical times.

Qualifications

Experience in working with cross-functional teams across different cultures and geographies. Excellent presentation and communication skills.
