Management$80k/yrFull-time

About the role

The Field Safety & Training Manager is a hybrid safety and operations support role focused on improving safety performance at high-risk locations within the New York market. Reporting directly to the Director of Safety and working in close partnership with Safety leadership, General Managers, and Operations Leadership, this position serves as an embedded field resource responsible for reducing risk, strengthening leadership accountability, and improving frontline execution. Unlike traditional safety roles focused primarily on compliance or broad market oversight, this position provides hands-on intervention, coaching, and targeted training within a small number of high-risk operations. Success is measured through incident reduction, behavior change, leadership engagement, and sustained operational improvement. LAZ Parking is one of the largest and fastest growing parking companies in the country, operating hundreds of thousands of parking spaces across the country and emphasizing a PEOPLE FIRST mission to “create opportunities for our employees and value for our clients”.

Responsibilities

  • High-Risk Location Intervention: Serve as the dedicated safety partner for 2-3 high-risk locations at a time; conduct and analyze field-based observations to identify behavioral, environmental, and operational risk factors; develop, implement, and validate corrective action plans in partnership with location leadership; transition ownership back to location leadership once performance stabilizes and controls are sustained.
  • Field Coaching & Training: Deliver hands-on coaching during live operations across multiple shifts and operating conditions; reinforce safe work practices, vehicle movement techniques, situational awareness, and task execution; provide practical, risk-based training tailored to site-specific operational challenges; focus on measurable behavior change and performance improvement; conduct or support new-hire driver evaluations at assigned locations and other designated high-risk operations.
  • Leadership Accountability & Development: Partner with supervisors and managers to strengthen safety ownership and execution; evaluate leadership presence, coaching effectiveness, and accountability practices; provide direct feedback and recommendations to improve safety performance; escalate recurring risks, performance concerns, and breakdowns in execution when necessary.
  • Market Safety Support: Support New York market leadership with targeted safety initiatives tied to identified risks, incident trends, or operational exposures; assist with focused training and coaching related to vehicle movement, pedestrian safety, backing incidents, slips, workers comp concerns, equipment operation, and other high-risk activities; document observations, participation, corrective actions, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Support operational reviews and response efforts following significant incidents; conduct risk-based evaluations of employees, processes, and work environments; identify emerging trends and recommend actions to reduce future exposure; maintain clear documentation of field observations, coaching activities, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in operations, safety, valet operations, transportation, hospitality, or similar field-based environments.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to safely operate passenger vehicles.
  • Experience in safety, EHS, risk management, or loss prevention preferred.
  • Leadership Safety Certification or comparable leadership development experience preferred.
  • Travel: Approximately 80%-90% of working time in New York; schedule may flex to support peak operating periods, weekends, evenings, and high-risk shifts.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds; reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified disabilities.
  • FLSA Status: Exempt.

Benefits

  • $80,000 Annual Base Salary + 10% Annual Bonus Opportunity (subject to company bonus plan and performance criteria).
