About the role

The Safety Rep is primarily responsible for administration of project safety, Accountability Programs, Accident and Fire Protection Programs, Risk Management issues, and maintaining full compliance with Company, Client and Provincial/Federal safety regulations, and drug and alcohol policies. Document control activities, providing safety policy guidance, and training and accountability for specific projects.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
  • Manages employee training files, including updating, organizing, and pulling data from files as needed.
  • Collects employee training data, including receiving completed training documentation, entering data into UltiPro, and filing hard copies.
  • Updates operations of completed training, maintains the operations training binder, and notifies operations and trainers of employees needing training prior to non-compliance.
  • Distributes drug and alcohol testing notifications to operations, monitors drug testing compliance, and manages employee additions/removals from Matrix’s pool.
  • Tracks and trends field safety audits, creating graphs, charts, and reports as needed.
  • Tracks and trends employee observation cards.
  • Sorts and files all safety-related paperwork from the field.
  • Coordinates and follows up with clients to verify completion of medical requirements, ensuring respiratory compliance letters, hearing tests, and fit tests are completed.
  • Performs additional duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Strong safety experience in aboveground tank construction/maintenance.
  • Completion of Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification or similar preferred.
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of Stop Work Authority.
  • Completion of OSHA 30 certification.
  • TWIC Card required at time of hire.
  • Previous experience maintaining document control procedures and knowledge of recordkeeping procedures.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database experience preferred.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak in group settings and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay

Hiring range: $45.00 to $57.00 per hour. The pay rate will depend on qualifications, prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. Full range for this position, available over time: $45.00 to $57.00 per hour.
