FIELD REPRESENTATIVE
About the Role
The Field Representative within the Bureau of Firearms' Regulatory Compliance Unit independently plans, schedules, and conducts statewide inspections of California licensed firearm dealers to ensure compliance with state firearm laws and regulations. This role includes communicating with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives investigators regarding inspection findings or referrals, providing training to various stakeholders regarding reporting, California firearm laws and regulations, and other firearm related responsibilities, and conducting inspections of licensed firearm dealers, ammunition vendors, manufacturers, and gun show producers to verify compliance with state gun show, firearm, and ammunition laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Independently plans, schedules, conducts statewide inspections of California licensed firearm dealers to ensure compliance with state firearm laws and regulations
- Communicates with Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives investigators regarding inspection findings or referrals
- Provides training to various stakeholders regarding reporting, California firearm laws and regulations, and other firearm related responsibilities
- Conducts inspections of licensed firearm dealers, ammunition vendors, manufacturers, and gun show producers to verify compliance with state gun show, firearm, and ammunition laws and regulations
Requirements
- Willingness to travel via airplane and/or automobile for up to two weeks per month
- Willingness to occasionally work odd shifts such as evenings, weekends, and nights
Pay
$6,256.00 - $8,011.00 (New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable). Shall Consider CRIME ANALYST III: $6,256.00 - $8,090.00.
Schedule
Day shift, Monday-Friday. Telework hybrid available. 12 Month Limited Term - Full Time.
