About the role
The Field Quality Engineer plays a critical role in driving product quality and consumer satisfaction for the Wellbeing & Small Domestic Appliances (WB&SDA) business in North America. As part of the Global Quality & Compliance organization, this role serves as the Voice of the Consumer (VoC) lead—translating field performance data into actionable insights that improve product reliability and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize Voice of Consumer data including warranty claims, service data, returns, and customer feedback
- Identify trends and emerging quality risks, translating insights into actionable improvement initiatives
- Lead root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) and drive cross-functional alignment on corrective actions
- Track and manage quality issues, ensuring timely escalation, resolution, and follow-up across stakeholders
- Partner with Supplier Quality, R&D, and Product Care teams to implement corrective actions and improve product performance
- Own and continuously improve regional field quality reporting, including KPIs, scorecards, and trend analysis
- Coordinate return and analysis of defective products and components to support technical investigations
- Support new product development by providing field insights, quality targets, and performance expectations
- Deploy quality improvement tools such as service bulletins and troubleshooting guides to field teams
- Support training, technical guidance, and feedback loops with service technicians and Customer Service teams
- Contribute to Brand Licensing quality activities, ensuring licensed products meet Electrolux standards
- Collaborate across global and regional teams to share best practices and improve quality processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; equivalent experience considered
- Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering, field quality, or product performance analysis within a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, etc.)
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development lifecycle
- Experience analyzing warranty, service, or consumer data to drive improvements
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel within North America as needed - 20%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer durable goods or appliance industries
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC)
- Knowledge of product functionality, components, and common failure modes
