Field Project Manager

About the role

The Field Project Manager (FPM) is responsible for marketing, developing, proposing, and executing Field Managed Contracts. They also serve as a backup to the District Engineer in the day-to-day operations of the district and may act in the DE's absence.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to collect and evaluate field data to develop Project Scope.
• Work with customers, B&W sales engineers, and account executives to define and propose projects to meet customer needs.
• Develop project estimates and PARs and maintain accurate contract cost versus estimate records.
• Work with B&W purchasing and vendors to collect pricing and place orders for materials.
• Prepare/write Technical Reports and prepare Estimates and Proposals.
• Work as part of a team to supply customer-specific equipment as part of a larger project.
• Manage projects when a PO is received, acknowledge receipt of the PO, develop a project number, direct engineering and purchasing resources, answer engineering questions from the customer and design engineers, review reports and drawings, develop transmittal letters, monitor engineering and fabrication schedules, arrange shipping, and process billings.
• Spend time on a job site to help advise on the completion of a project.
• Perform inspections for specific customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Engineering Technology or similar project management experience with 5 years of Field Service experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with an interest in working with customers to help develop and supply focused solutions to specific problems.
• A self-directed individual with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proven skills for managing multiple contracts, of various sizes at one time and completing work on time. Also be able to observe/understand and work around schedule interferences.
