Field Project Manager 2

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Project Manager to join our team. This customer-facing role ensures projects are executed within budget and schedule while maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will manage, oversee, and coordinate small to medium projects of moderate complexity from award through completion. You will translate customer needs into detailed proposals and implementation plans, communicate project requirements, and maintain accurate records. This role involves coordinating procurement, establishing milestones, analyzing costs, and performing managerial responsibilities, including subcontractor selection.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee projects from award to completion, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed proposals and project plans.
• Communicate project requirements to the team and maintain accurate records of job status, changes, and material flow.
• Act as the customer’s best service provider to ensure Convergint remains their first choice.
• Coordinate procurement of materials, supplies, and services for timely and cost-effective project completion.
• Establish project milestones and analyze costs.
• Perform managerial responsibilities, including subcontractor selection and oversight.

Requirements

• Project management experience in a technical environment (e.g., building automation, fire alarm, or electronic security systems).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
• Adaptability and strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
• Financial analytical skills, including cost control.
• Experience managing client relationships and communications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Education: College degree, trade school, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum Experience: 5–7 years in project management.
• Preferred (but not required): 5 years in engineering, field service, or project management; experience in electronic, fire alarm, life safety, or building automation industries.
• Certifications & Licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI) or industry-specific certifications/licenses are a plus.
