Field Production Assistant
About Our Client
Our client is a growing roofing company seeking a dependable and motivated Field Production Assistant to support residential and commercial projects from start to finish. This role combines project coordination, customer service, field support, and administrative responsibilities to help keep projects on schedule and customers informed. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both office and field environments. While construction or roofing experience is preferred, our client is willing to train a candidate with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to learn and grow.
What You'll Do
- Support the Production Manager with daily project scheduling and coordination.
- Visit active job sites to verify project readiness and monitor progress.
- Coordinate material deliveries and pickups.
- Verify materials delivered match work orders and project requirements.
- Track material usage and document additional materials used during construction.
- Enter receipts, material costs, project updates, and notes into company systems.
- Maintain accurate project files and documentation.
- Assist with scheduling inspections and coordinating with local building departments.
- Verify permits are posted and available at job sites when required.
- Assist with project reporting and recordkeeping.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, suppliers, subcontractors, and team members.
- Provide project updates and scheduling information.
- Assist with resolving minor field issues and communicate larger concerns to management.
- Support positive customer experiences throughout the project lifecycle.
- Document completed work with photos and notes.
- Ensure crews have the information and materials needed to perform their work efficiently.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and mobile applications.
- Ability to learn CRM and project management software.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently after training.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Construction, roofing, production, or project coordination experience.
- Experience working in the home services or construction industry.
- Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Must be capable of handling plywood and other common building materials.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
- Must be able to climb ladders and access roofs when necessary.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical activities throughout the workday.
