Field Operator - Rover

About the role

Support Drilling Services operations across multiple locations. Handle, operate, and maintain drilling surface and downhole equipment while working alongside experienced field teams. This entry-level role is designed for individuals with oil & gas exposure who want to grow into a long-term field career. Work in challenging environments, support rig operations, and ensure safe, reliable execution at the wellsite and workshop.

Responsibilities

• Support routine wellsite and workshop tasks under general supervision
• Learn to operate, handle, and maintain Drilling Services surface and downhole tools
• Rig up and rig down equipment safely and efficiently
• Develop hoisting and BHA-handling skills during field operations
• Operate and calibrate surface equipment as instructed
• Maintain accurate wellsite records, logs, and communication updates
• Complete job-related paperwork for yourself and assigned crew
• Follow all radiation, safety, and regulatory requirements for Drilling Services operations
• Drive company vehicles safely and arrive on location as scheduled
• Participate in quality improvement and continuous learning activities
• Promote strong customer relationships at the wellsite
• Perform all duties in compliance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance, and Core Values
• Support additional operational tasks as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some oil & gas experience (rig, frac, wireline, drilling, or industrial field work)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work long hours, outdoors, and in demanding field conditions
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to travel frequently and work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends, on-call)
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and following procedures

Qualifications

• CDL or willingness to obtain
• Previous field exposure in drilling, completions, or wellsite operations

Schedule

2-weeks on / 1-week off rotational schedule.
