About the role

The Field Operations Specialist supports Mechanical Foremen and field crews, ensuring projects are planned, organized, and properly supported. They work closely with foremen to coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, tools, schedules, and project information.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong working relationships with Mechanical Foremen and serve as a trusted resource for planning, coordination, and problem-solving.
  • Provide guidance and support to help foremen improve leadership, communication, organization, and planning skills.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with foremen to understand challenges, resource needs, and upcoming workload.
  • Help foremen prioritize work activities and develop effective daily and weekly plans.
  • Identify opportunities for leadership development and help reinforce company expectations and best practices.
  • Serve as a sounding board for field leaders when operational challenges arise.
  • Visit upcoming jobsites before project kickoff to evaluate site conditions and gather critical project information.
  • Develop a clear understanding of project scope, logistics, access requirements, safety concerns, and resource needs.
  • Meet with foremen before project startup to review scope, expectations, schedules, and potential obstacles.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure crews arrive prepared and informed.
  • Aid in developing execution plans for complex or high-priority projects.
  • Help identify potential issues before they impact production or scheduling.
  • Maintain visibility across all active projects and understand where crews, equipment, and resources are deployed.
  • Monitor project progress through jobsite visits and regular communication with field leaders.
  • Cook up manpower, equipment, tool, and material needs between the field and office.
  • Ensure requests from foremen are communicated, tracked, and resolved.
  • Help eliminate obstacles that slow production or create inefficiencies.
  • Aid in workforce planning and resource allocation as workloads change.
  • Communicate project updates, schedule changes, staffing needs, and operational concerns.
  • Facilitate communication between field crews, project management, customers, subcontractors, and vendors when needed.
  • Maintain awareness of changing project conditions and communicate impacts to leadership.
  • Aid foremen in securing the tools, equipment, materials, and resources necessary to perform work efficiently.
  • Coordinate with office personnel, vendors, and suppliers to address field requests.
  • Monitor upcoming project needs and proactively identify resource requirements.
  • Help ensure equipment and materials are where they need to be before crews arrive on site.
  • Follow up on outstanding requests to prevent work disruptions.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management abilities
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with employees, customers, and management
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to changing operational needs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Ability to work independently while managing regular communication with office and field personnel
  • Willingness to travel regularly to active jobsites and work in industrial and commercial environments
