Field Merchandiser
You will be creating attractive displays and functional storage for our thousands of products. This is not a desk job. You’ll be active and hands-on, traveling to any of our 310+ locations nationwide. The position also includes forklift training, so you can safely and confidently handle equipment as needed. We’re looking for candidates based in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area. The role involves traveling for 5 to 10 days at a time, with all travel expenses and accommodations fully covered.
Responsibilities
- Set and stock all gondolas in showroom according to each store’s layout
- Set racks in warehouse and stock per layout plan
- Price all products accurately
- Set all displays per layout guidelines
- Hang aisle markers, signage, and banners
- Send back extra gondola or racking parts to the main building
- Supervise store associates during merchandising efforts and temporary help
Work Environment
This position will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, such as extreme cold, heat, humidity, and wet conditions. This position works near moving mechanical parts. Rarely, this position is exposed to vibrations, risk of electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic chemicals.
Physical Demands
This position frequently requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers, handling, feeling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and listening. Periodically, this position requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Rarely, this position requires sitting.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Hours of work depend on store hours of operation, averaging 45 hours per week.
Travel
Travel is expected for this position, involving 5 to 10 days at a time with all travel expenses and accommodations fully covered.
Pay
Estimated total compensation: $55,000-$56,000, which includes base salary, incentive pay, and per diem.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to a prescribed style and format
- Proficiency in word processing and database software, spreadsheet software, order processing systems, web-based software, and POS systems
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training
