Field Mechanic

About the role

Multi-functional position incorporating mechanic duties on various pieces of machinery and operating equipment, with a focus on construction and asphalt paving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanic duties on construction equipment, including hydraulic and electrical system troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Use cutting torches, shop tools, and stick weld mild steel as required
• Operate Excel-based systems and OEM diagnostic systems
• Follow written and oral instructions, safety policies, and maintain a positive team environment
• Assist with other positions as needed for job completion
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Adapt to last-minute schedule changes, location changes, and shift changes
• Perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, working at heights, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and moving objects up to 50 lbs
• Wear required PPE to perform job duties safely
• Drive company vehicles up to 26,000 lbs

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years mechanic experience working on construction equipment, preferably asphalt paving equipment
• Own tools up to ¾” drive mechanical and pneumatic, plus other tools required for job tasks
• Ability to stick weld mild steel as a minimum requirement
• Basic computer skills for diagnostic and Excel-based systems
• Valid state-issued driver’s license for vehicles up to 26,000 lbs
• Must pass drug test and background check
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
