About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Field Marketing Strategist serves as a critical link between corporate marketing and sales/specialist teams. This role supports the development and execution of marketing plans for specific product segments, aligning with sales and business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as the bridge between marketing, sales, and key suppliers; coordinate efforts and maintain communication to ensure success of marketing programs.
- Collaborate with suppliers to understand strategic priorities, campaign content, and product/service launches; ensure field teams are aware and aligned with growth plans.
- Partner with sales and specialist stakeholders to define annual marketing plans supporting revenue generation for the product segment.
- Develop a commercial plan for the year by segment/vendor; work with the field to build and refine plans, ensuring timely updates as priorities shift.
- Maintain relationships with sales managers, specialist teams, supplier teams, and the marketing team.
- Liaise with product/service specialists to understand offerings, customer segments, industries, personas, and value propositions; drive effective messaging and content creation.
- Serve as the first point of contact for marketing-related questions in the field; capture and prioritize feedback on campaigns and events.
- Work closely with key suppliers’ marketing plans; leverage content, communicate progress, and ensure commitments are met.
- Support event planning and execution (in-person and virtual) as needed.
- Maintain communication with stakeholders, including sales leadership and supplier partners, through monthly and quarterly cadences.
- Track KPIs and campaign results for regional activities in collaboration with Marketing Operations.
- Monitor lead flow to ensure timely follow-up by sales channels.
- Ensure adherence to vendor brand guidelines.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 years of marketing experience or a closely related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, a technical field, or equivalent experience.
- High competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of digital communication channels, omnichannel campaign execution, and measurement practices.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented with a learning mindset; ability to collaborate across diverse groups (marketing, sales, suppliers).
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; comfortable leading meetings and influencing stakeholders.
- Ability to sit for 8 hours a day; normal office environment.
- Occasional travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in B2B technical marketing, ideally within industrial markets.
- Experience working with vendor or solution sets; electrical or industrial distribution experience is a plus.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms.
