Position Summary
The Food and Beverage Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing a variety of food and beverage service equipment to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with sanitation standards. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and minor repairs in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems.Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee complex maintenance and repair projects for food and beverage equipment, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to deadlines.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues with refrigeration systems, beverage dispensers, and other specialized equipment, including performing root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with management to recommend equipment upgrades, replacements, or process improvements based on performance trends and operational needs.
- Provide mentorship and advanced technical support to entry-level and intermediate technicians, fostering their skill development and knowledge.
- Conduct equipment performance evaluations and implement preventive maintenance strategies to optimize functionality and minimize downtime.
- Act as a liaison with vendors and contractors, coordinating installations or repairs and ensuring work meets company standards and specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, compliance reports, and performance metrics for audits and operational reviews.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions with management to identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Manage inventory, including stocking supplies, ordering parts, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Communicate effectively with store personnel, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining professionalism.
- Maintain accurate and timely work order notes while meeting KPI metrics for travel time, SLA, and efficiency.
- Adhere to workplace safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, safety codes, building codes) while completing tasks.
- Identify and promptly report safety hazards or compliance issues to the maintenance supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management team to support departmental objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED
- Preferred Education: Journeyman or Master’s Trade License in refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical (where applicable).
- Minimum Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in equipment repair for food/beverage service or a related technical field.
- Preferred Experience: 7+ years of extensive troubleshooting and leadership experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: EPA Universal or Journeyman license.
- Soft Skills: Communication Skills, Teamwork & Collaboration, Problem-solving, Adaptability, Time Management.
- Other Requirements: Travel: Must be able to drive for extended periods as needed. A company vehicle is provided; must maintain a clean driving record. Hours & Conditions: Monday–Friday, 40 hours minimum, with participation in an on-call rotation, including holiday coverage. Physical Requirements: Must be able to work safely in confined spaces as required by the role. Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds, using proper lifting techniques and equipment as needed. Must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day. Ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead, bending, squatting, twisting, grasping, gripping, and performing repetitive movements. Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, including cold and hot conditions, as required by the role. The work environment usually has moderate noise levels typical of industrial or operational settings.
