Duties and Requirements
- Participate in debris removal and site cleanup operations following hurricane impact.
- Affiliate with the loading, unloading, and transportation of supplies and equipment.
- Support the setup and breakdown of temporary shelters and distribution centers.
- Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting, digging, and carrying materials.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines diligently to ensure personal and team well-being.
- Work collaboratively with other emergency response personnel and local authorities.
- Be adaptable to changing conditions and assignments based on immediate needs.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in potentially challenging outdoor conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from designated staging areas.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to helping others in times of crisis.
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or similar physical labor roles is a plus.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift during the week including weekends, holidays, and overnights.
Work Environment
- Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
- Physical Requirements: Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach.
- Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies.
- Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
