Responsibilities

  • Participates in new hire orientation and performs E-Verify process
  • Assists with creating and maintaining employee records
  • Assists with entering of field labor working hours
  • Reviews and reconciles project timecards
  • Runs regular employee classification & pay rate audits
  • Prepares position & pay rate changes
  • Enrolls apprentices in DOL RAPIDS system; ensures transfers, suspensions, and cancellations are processed in RAPIDS according to the signed state registration standards
  • Coordinates logistics for online apprenticeship training requirements (maintains computer lab; coordinates employee attendance & progress in adherence to DOL timelines)
  • Troubleshoots and updates computer equipment with assistance from IT
  • Ensures the apprenticeship to journeyman ratio is maintained per each apprenticeship program signed standards
  • Prepares, audits & reviews required reporting related to IRA program compliance

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in HR administration, payroll processing / timekeeping, or similar role (Construction admin experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (excellent Excel ability required)
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Performs well under tight deadlines
  • Maintains an elevated level of professionalism
  • Effective communication skills with all organizational levels
  • Acts as an advocate for site employees by supporting all company policies and procedures while presenting a positive attitude
  • Problem-solving through face-to-face, email, and phone communications

Physical Demands

  • This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
  • Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
  • This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.
  • The role may require physical actions to successfully perform the job's essential functions, including mobility on and around construction sites and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
