Field Helper-Temporary
About the role
National Grid is seeking to fill a Temporary Field Helper in Rome, NY at the starting rate of $27.05/hr. We are a major electricity and gas delivery company with one of the largest electricity transmission and distribution systems in the Northeast. Temporary Field Helpers will be expected to assist various crew operations in the field.
Responsibilities
Perform assorted manual labor tasks associated with the construction sites and other similar activities. Ability to use hand tools, including flagging at construction sites.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- AAS in Electrical Construction; equivalent electrical apprenticeship or Electric Line School Certificate is required.
- Must pass pre-employment validated company test(s).
- Should have aptitude for electrical work.
- Must be able to work outdoors and in inclement weather.
- Must be able to walk over uneven terrain.
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
- Valid CDL A (Or ability to obtain one within 6 months).
- Currently resides or has the ability to live within 50 miles of Rome area.

Aptitude for electrical work and ability to use hand tools.
Pay
$27.05/Hr

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions.
Many of the terms and conditions of employment for this position are defined by a collective bargaining agreement that the Company has with a local union. Newly hired employees are bound by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement as well as other agreements between the Company and the local union.
