About the role

As a Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will ensure equipment remains in good operating condition to achieve 100% availability and safe operation. This full-time position is based in the Arizona region, with travel to multiple projects and surrounding states within the Southwest. You will be required to join the Operator’s Local 12 as a Group 4 mechanic.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and adhere to personal responsibility for safety, working safely at all times.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and policies.
  • Work as a team, communicate effectively, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Perform general maintenance and lube services on vehicles.
  • Adapt to flexible work shifts, extended hours, or possible weekends as workload requires.
  • Receive on-the-job training and direction.
  • Complete all job tasks on time as required by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience on heavy equipment such as dozers, track hoes, loaders, haul trucks, and excavators.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to navigate electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and a highly driven attitude.
  • Ability to promote a teamwork atmosphere and collaborate across departments.
  • Capable of working in a high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Proficient welder.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Required tools to perform the job efficiently.
  • Ability to operate equipment.
  • Willingness to travel overnight to outlying jobs.
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime when needed.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.

Qualifications

  • Valid and clear Class B CDL license.
  • Light truck auto mechanic experience is a plus.
