About the role

As a Building Envelope focused Facilities Professional, you will play a crucial role in our Building Envelope Consulting team, utilizing your expertise to diagnose and prevent failures in various building envelope systems. Your primary focus will be on forensic investigations, where you'll determine the root causes of leaks and structural degradation in waterproofing, roofing, cladding, and glazing systems. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with architects and General Contractors to review construction documents, ensuring that envelope details comply with code requirements and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations to determine the root causes of leaks and structural degradation in building envelope systems
  • Collaborate with architects and General Contractors to review construction documents and ensure compliance with code requirements and manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct on-site diagnostic tests and observe work in progress to maintain quality assurance standards
  • Assist in performing assessments, inspections, and testing
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, calculations, and research
  • Perform contract administration for small-to-medium projects
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects
  • Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management
  • Maintain quality standards on all projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in building science or related building field and up to 5 years’ experience in facility assessment
  • Alternatively, 4-9 years’ related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of building envelope systems, including waterproofing, roofing, cladding, and glazing technologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and clients
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for project needs
