Field Facilities Professional
Job Summary
Terracon Consultants is seeking a Field Facilities Professional in their Williamsburg, Virginia office. The position is entry-level and involves diagnosing and developing repair/restoration solutions for the built environment, including various building and infrastructure components.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform property condition assessments and detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials.
- Use assessment techniques such as visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations.
- Prepare reports of findings and recommendations, and assist in the development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration.
- Assist in performing assessments, inspections, and testing.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, calculations, and research.
- Assist and gain exposure to projects of greater complexity and scope.
- Perform and sometimes oversee contract administration for small-to-medium projects.
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Maintain quality standards on all projects.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in building science, Engineering Architecture, Construction Management, or related building field.
- 1-3 years’ related field experience.
