Join our team at a Microsoft data center in Racine, WI, supporting the startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building automation and control systems. This hands-on role focuses on Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for HVAC, chiller plants, energy monitoring, lighting, and environmental controls.
Responsibilities
- Start up, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize building automation systems.
- Configure control devices, sensors, alarms, trends, and reporting tools.
- Verify operation of valves, actuators, dampers, relays, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues using software and electrical test tools.
- Update control drawings and project documentation.
- Support projects from startup through commissioning and owner training.
- Communicate technical findings and project status with customers and project teams.
- Travel occasionally for training and support at other data center locations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in building automation, HVAC, controls, construction, energy, power generation, or a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, chillers, boilers, and temperature controls.
- Ability to safely troubleshoot electrical systems and use a multimeter.
- Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work extended schedules, including occasional Saturdays.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, technical certification, or relevant trade experience.
- Experience with building automation platforms (WebCTRL preferred).
- Ability to read HVAC drawings and control schematics.
- Experience commissioning HVAC controls and related devices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Schedule
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, WI. The role is fully onsite and may require extended schedules, including occasional Saturdays.
