Job Summary
The Sr. Field Engineer - AV will be able to install and operate most types of AV systems and equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role, including testing, troubleshooting of system components and functions, and field verification of connections, labels, installation, and work quality.
- Understand advanced system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals; create shop drawings and submittals for new project kick-off.
- Understand Control System and/or DSP programming, and commissioning including basic programming, and set up to configure system components such as DSP, mixers, wireless mics, video, and lighting systems.
- Perform complex programming and configuring of AV equipment such as DSP (Biamp/QSC/BSS/ClearOne).
- Perform basic programming and configuring of Crestron/Extron/AMX, matrix mixers, and switchers, VTC (Cisco/Polycom).
- Commission audio systems.
- Configure IP addressable devices and have a basic understanding of data networking.
- Work both “in house” and in the field when required.
- Assume ownership of project installation giving next-level support to the Field Engineer, as well as supporting field staff and project manager.
- Assist with maintaining and completing project punch-list for project closeouts.
- Oversee the technical aspects of projects and IT coordination.
- Pre-quality-check the projects, test all equipment, and functionality, and create punch lists.
- Assist sales staff as needed with product and system demonstrations.
- Assist PM with change order designs and estimates.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and able to lead others to create, develop, and implement project process improvement(s).

- Proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentation(s).
- Proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of overall audiovisual commercial integration industry experience, working commercial integration projects.
- Must have a proven track record in audiovisual systems and be able to lead commissioning efforts on large/complex projects.
- Able to work well with other people.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
- Meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks, and manage these to completion and customer turnover.
Education, Certifications, and Skills
- High School diploma or GED equivalency required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Certifications required: CTS-D, Crestron Programmer 2, QSYS level 2.
- Able to create complex DSP audio configuration.
- Networking - Able to coordinate network requirements with clients, configure network switches for multicast traffic & manage VLANs.
- Drawings - Proficient in creating & coordinating full drawing package: Signal flow diagrams, display & equipment elevations, speaker placement, conduit requirements.
- AV Design - Able to vet designs for missing/wrong material and redesign as needed; create change orders.

Min USD $35.00/Yr. Max USD $55.00/Yr.
