Field Engineer Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Join PCL Construction Services, Inc. as a Field Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term in the Seattle district (Bellevue, Washington). This 3‑month internship, beginning in May or June 2027, offers hands‑on experience on real projects, mentorship through PCL’s College of Construction, and the chance to develop in‑demand skills while building connections through inclusive student and networking events.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Engineers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators with safety and quality audits.
• Read and understand drawings and specifications.
• Log submittals and process RFIs.
• Assist with surveying and project layout.
• Maintain and update field drawings, field equipment, and records.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff.
• Attend relevant project meetings.
• Prepare memos, letters, meeting minutes, contracts, and other documents.
• Support project documentation requirements.
• Assist with estimating and soliciting subcontractors or suppliers for information and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full‑time student pursuing a degree relevant to construction (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture).
• Interest in a career as a Project Manager, Superintendent, or Estimator.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States; this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
• At least 18 years of age and a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to temporarily relocate to project locations.
• Ability to navigate a construction site daily, including climbing ladders and stairs.
• Capability to work around and near heavy equipment, cranes, and other construction equipment.

Pay

The estimated salary range for this role is $25‑$28 per hour, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
