Field Engineer Intern - GBA Builders

About the role

GBA Builders is seeking Field Engineer Interns to join their team. Based in Lenexa, Kansas, this position involves 100% travel to sites across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Aid project managers with tasks like drawing coordination, safety reports, daily logs, and reports
• Support estimating efforts by communicating with subcontractors and performing quantity take-offs
• Assist with quality control reviews and site communications
• Evaluate and update schedules
• Participate in project buyouts and preconstruction activities
• Engage with clients and design teams to address issues and expedite work
• Attend site visits for new projects
• Manage project budgets
• Provide safety assistance during job site visits
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering, or a related engineering or business discipline
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and maintain focus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for interacting with all organizational levels
• Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Previous internships are preferred but not mandatory

Qualifications

• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, and working on active construction sites for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Comfort working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, or stairs
