Responsibilities
- Performing assignments that require the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria’s to carry out engineering tasks.
- Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Exercising judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids.
- Assisting with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
- Assisting with construction administration and documentation of deficiencies and deviations from plans.
- Working under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
- Researching and compiling project information for reporting, marketing, and funding requests.
- Creating and maintaining centralized files for project records (including digital).
- Coordinating logistics and meetings for project managers.
- Attending and taking minutes for the development team as requested.
- Helping in the preparation of reports, including monthly development reports.
- Assisting with community outreach duties as needed.
- Attending neighborhood, community, and project meetings.
- Undertaking tasks as may be assigned by project managers.
- Having a clear understanding of the budget and assist in the creation of and adherence to project and development budgets.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with the intent to continue enrollment after an internship.
- Must have completed at least 1 year of study.
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software.
- Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models).
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.
- Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. This position does not include sponsorship for United States Work Authorization. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on experience and/or education. A Housing Stipend is available to those who qualify.
