Field Engineer I

Essential Duties

• Affix GPS interfaces on site, including rover, data collector, base station, and machine mounted GPS equipment/machine control.
• Provide layout, quality control, and data gathering services for the project teams.
• Communicate effectively with Civil and VDC group supervisors and field engineers.
• Utilize plans to determine project requirements and constraints.
• Be knowledgeable of and review layout for ADA compliance.
• Ensure all work is performed in the safest manner possible.
• Maintain a safe work environment for all co-workers, customers, clients, suppliers, etc.

Skills to be Mastered

• Mentor a larger group of civil techs.
• Lead crews with assistant foreman duties.

Reporting and Advancement

• Reports to the Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
• Advancement positions include Senior field engineer, Assistant foreman, or transition into an office position in the VDC or Civil groups.
