Field Engineer - Heavy Civil - Southwest District

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
• Perform quantity calculations and compile as-built data
• Prepare work plans and work packages
• Support field surveying and work layout
• Compile and process labor timesheets
• Prepare Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
• Provide solutions related to construction operations
• Participate in safety reviews and toolbox meetings
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups
• Supervise field operations
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations
• Aid in preparing purchase orders and subcontracts
• Enter data into the job cost system and review cost reports
• Generate change orders and as-built data
• Support subcontractor operations
• Review and analyze historical data for bidding purposes
• Complete plan and specification reviews
• Takeoff materials and quantities according to bid documents

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
• Experience with leadership and management of people
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities
• Willingness to travel and relocate nationally
• Valid driver's license
• Previous internship experience preferred

Pay

The base compensation for this role ranges from $82,000 to $90,000, with actual compensation varying based on education, experience, and location.
