Field Engineer

About the Role

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to work in the Water/Wastewater Division in the Florence, SC area. The successful candidate will be responsible for successful completion of field tasks as assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout
• Field purchase orders
• Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules
• Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Prepare, review, and process shop drawings
• Maintain as-built drawings
• Collect and assemble O&M material
• Perform subcontract scope analysis
• Assist with purchasing and expediting
• Document distribution
• Meeting minutes and distribution
• Scheduling

Requirements

• Surveying/layout
• Technical writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
