Field Engineer

About the role

This is a great opportunity for new graduates or early-career professionals who want to build technical skills, work alongside industry experts, and support a wide variety of client projects. Experience in building enclosures or building science is helpful — but not required. We’re ready to train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Conducting field investigations, observations, and inspections
• Aiding in engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations
• Serving as a technical reviewer for technical reports
• Assisting with the review of construction documents for compliance with plans and specifications
• Helping to develop project proposals, cost estimates, and track project budgets
• Researching and resolving design and construction challenges
• Reviewing and evaluating field or lab data
• Communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture (or related field)
• Interest in building science or building enclosure systems
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to learn
• Comfort with both field and office work
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history

Qualifications

• Ability to travel regionally within the Eastern Midwest (OH, KY, IN, WV, MI, Western PA)
