Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager, Superintendent, and field staff with the day-to-day coordination of construction activities.
- Cook with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and design consultants to support project progress.
- Aid in the preparation, tracking, and distribution of RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs for RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents.
- Cook with material deliveries and verify that materials comply with project specifications and quality requirements.
- Perform field walks to monitor construction progress, document site conditions, and identify potential issues.
- Aid in quality control inspections and ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
- Support project scheduling by monitoring progress and communicating schedule impacts.
- Participate in subcontractor coordination meetings, owner meetings, and safety meetings.
- Aid with quantity tracking, cost reporting, forecasting, and change order documentation.
- Assist with punch list activities, inspections, testing, and project closeout documentation.
- Promote and follow all OHLA USA safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Work within an active, secure correctional facility while complying with all owner security protocols and operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of construction experience (internship or co-op experience will be considered).
- Previous experience on Miami Dade County vertical commercial, institutional, healthcare, justice is preferred.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and building systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), or similar construction management software is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of BIM Modelling tools and coordination.
