Field Engineer
About the role
This role is located at the Copper World Project, approximately 45 minutes southwest of Tucson in Helvetia, Arizona. The purpose of this role is to support the Senior Field Engineer with project feasibility studies and to independently perform routine tasks such as collaborating with consultants and contractors, conducting site inspections, and managing site projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Field Engineer with the feasibility study by critically assessing the technical and financial aspects of the project.
- Independently perform routine work including: collaborating with consultants and contractors, identifying hazards, site inspections and reports, coordinating with staff and consultants.
- Manage site projects and collaborate with various groups to execute successful projects.
- Perform field explorations, collect samples, conduct geologic reconnaissance, and map.
- Collect and QC data at the site.
- Read technical reports and provide summaries of the contents.
- Complete workplace examinations identifying safety hazards.
- Aid in planning for hydrology and geotechnical data acquisition in support of the feasibility study.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science in Mining, Civil, Geological, Geotechnical, Hydrology or related engineering/science discipline is required. Or equivalent work experience.
- Previous experience managing projects, supporting site activities, installing piezometers and borehole testing.
- Proficient with MS Office, related software, and computers.
- Ability to travel to and from sites is required.
- Strong communication and team skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience at a mine site is preferred.
- Experience with monitoring platforms, MinePlan, Propeller and other related software.
Qualifications
