About the Role

The Field Engineer facilitates project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management, and communication. This role involves close collaboration with Project Managers, Superintendents, and other project team members, including clients, to support project success. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with compilation of project close-out/operation and maintenance manuals for delivery to the owner.
  • Coordinate document control and update Procore, including processing Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, Drawing Logs, and other management tools.
  • Assist with process improvement by sharing best practices and training staff.
  • Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks to generate future sales opportunities.
  • Create and maintain the Contract Document Log and update with current information.
  • Initiate, organize, and attend project meetings, ensuring agendas and minutes are produced and distributed.
  • Ensure proper bid documents are sent to bidders and plan rooms for various bid packages; build and maintain the bidders list.
  • Maintain current construction documents.
  • Maintain the CBI report and ensure all insurance is up to date.
  • Receive and act on RFIs from contractors; maintain RFI log.
  • Review submittals and maintain submittal log.
  • Support day-to-day project management, including responding to pay requests, change orders, RFIs, submittals, contracts, and purchase orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 0–2 years of construction experience or a construction graduate.
  • Basic MEP knowledge.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Valid Driver’s License (required).
  • LEED AP and OSHA 10 Hour certifications (a plus).

Physical Demands and Working Environment

The role requires the ability to perform essential functions in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying weather and temperature conditions, as well as travel between sites. Physical demands include:

  • Standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling light to moderate amounts of weight.
  • Operating equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination.
  • Traveling to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation.
  • Verbal communication to exchange information.

Vision and hearing must be within the normal range, with or without correction.
