Responsibilities

  • Aid the Site Manager in laying out building items, particularly structural, civil, process, and architectural elements.
  • Support the Site Manager in procuring construction materials.
  • Collaborate with the Site and Project teams in executing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and compiling receiving reports.
  • Conduct on-site material placement surveys as necessary.
  • Ensure that quantities of materials in place are accurate and reported weekly or as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Coordinate construction activities, including monitoring material deliveries and subcontractor performance.
  • Create and consolidate activities on reports as requested by the Site Manager.
  • Develop bid lists, issue procurement documents, review bids, and evaluate proposals under the guidance of the Site Manager and Project Manager.
  • Help establish and maintain high safety and QA/QC standards.
  • Lead safety meetings as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Review, comprehend, assimilate, and document shop drawings and submittals.
  • Help maintain a current set of red line as-built drawings as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Correlate and update construction documents as they are reviewed.
  • Occasionally assist with general labor and cleanup tasks.
  • Manage the jobsite in the absence of the Site Manager on a regular basis.
  • Perform and document Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) audits throughout the jobsite.
  • Prepare and submit project reports, including daily and monthly man-hour reports.
  • Made decisions regarding safety and quality on the spot to improve work processes.
  • Report out-of-spec issues to the Site Manager and Project Management staff for appropriate action.
  • Communicate with city officials, OSHA, and inspectors during the project duration.
  • Schedule and conduct inspections according to project specifications and document them accurately.
  • Implement and enforce Gray's safety program on-site.
  • Keep up-to-date progress drawings of work performed daily using tools like Bluebeam, Excel, or Assemble.
  • Create meeting agendas and minutes from various site meetings for review by the Site Manager and ensure timely distribution.
  • Receive and respond to verbal or written directions from the Site Manager and provide feedback as needed.
  • Bring any customer-requested changes to the attention of the Site Manager and Project Management staff for appropriate contract actions.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a minimum of 2 years of related construction experience.
  • At least 4 years of relevant construction experience, in lieu of a degree.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets, and smartphones.
  • A strong work ethic and enthusiasm for a team environment, collaboration, and professional development.
  • The ability to travel frequently to various job sites throughout the United States and, in some cases, internationally.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, talking, and hearing.
  • Regularly stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs, and occasional lifting or moving up to 100 lbs.
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
  • Exposure to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Some travel may be required.
