Position Summary

The position of Field Engineer will work closely with all members of the management and health and safety team. This position includes quality control, surveying, KPI tracking, and other responsibilities related to the proper and timely execution of ENTACT projects. Must be self-motivated to meet deadlines, communicate effectively in a teamwork setting and be able to adapt role/responsibilities in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. Associates must be open to periods of sustained project-based travel. Must have a valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.
  • Team players with the ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives.
  • Design, planning and communication skills that promote safe work and safe work products.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to take the initiative.
  • Strong organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • HAZWOPER 40 hr. training is highly preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center or AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.

Physical Demands/Visual Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, co-workers, vendors, both individually and in front of a group.
  • Good reasoning ability and decision-making skills.
  • Able to understand and utilize reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
  • Must be able to hear normal conversation, see near objects, and speak clearly.
  • Sitting for extended period.
  • No heavy lifting is expected.
  • Exertion of up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects may be required.
  • Closed visual acuity to perform such activities as viewing a computer, extensive reading, preparing and analyzing data and figures and decipher color.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to safely travel by air, car, train or bus.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions

  • Outside construction site, onsite office space.
  • Terrain is rugged and may be difficult to navigate.
  • Confined spaces.
  • Hot Environments.
  • Noisy work environments controlled to levels at or below exposure limits.
  • Contaminated atmosphere exposures (i.e. fumes, vapors, lead dust, H2S, etc.) controlled to levels at or below exposure limits.

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be worn including, but not limited to hard hat, hearing protection such as ear plugs or muffs, eye protection such as safety glasses, goggles, face shield, etc., welders helmet, safety vest, various types of gloves including leather, Nitrile, latex, etc., steel toe boots, and various respiratory protection such as dust masks, half face and full face respirators, SCBAs, APRs, etc. may be required depending on site conditions.
  • Respirator use may require that the user be clean shaven.
  • Protective coveralls include cotton, Tyvek, fire retardant, chemical protective, etc.
