Field Engineer
About the role
This Field Engineer position provides engineering support for our sales team, assisting with construction management and after-sales field support. Based at our Dallas sales office, the role requires frequent travel to job sites throughout a designated territory and involves a mix of field and office work. The position includes extensive formalized training and mentorship to develop skills in CaptiveAire products, troubleshooting, and application engineering processes.

Responsibilities
- Split time between field work (50%–75%) and office-based data analysis and remote troubleshooting (travel required).
- Provide product support by troubleshooting issues with existing and newly installed equipment in the field and delivering immediate solutions.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of all CaptiveAire products.
- Collaborate with the engineering team, service team, local sales team, and customers to achieve optimal outcomes on installed jobs.
- Attend construction trade coordination meetings and equipment startups to ensure successful project completion.
- Review and analyze data from installed equipment using our CASLink remote monitoring system to drive product improvements.
- Apply mechanical building design knowledge to review customer applications and suggest operational improvements.
- Conduct third-party training for outside contractors on CaptiveAire products.
- Provide reports to the Regional Manager and other teams on customer feedback, challenges, quality issues, and product improvements.
Requirements
- 0–5 years of experience.
- Four-year technical degree in mechanical, electrical, construction, or a science-oriented curriculum preferred.
- Hands-on technical internship or co-op experience is preferred.
- Must enjoy hands-on product exposure.
- HVAC and/or electrical experience strongly preferred.
- Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- For engineering graduates, completion of the FE Exam within six months of employment is expected.
- Must be a proactive, self-driven individual ("go-getter").
- Must be able to travel for training.

Pay
$70k–$100k base salary, negotiable based on experience, with additional monthly bonuses tied to productivity and profits.
