What you’ll do as Field Engineer
- Commissioning (cold and hot) and full validation of hybrid systems at project sites for Aggreko Microgrid and Storage Solutions (AMSS).
- Support Project Delivery responsibilities in projects from project execution to post-commissioning and operations and maintenance.
- Work with customers, utilities, project partners, as well as other Aggreko personnel to define the system and then implement the electrical, mechanical and control systems that make up the product.
- Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and controls for electrical power systems. Work with tools and equipment for remote metering and monitoring, data acquisition, and instrumentation.
- Perform and validate commissioning, operational, maintenance and testing procedures for equipment and hybrid systems. Provide feedback to product development and design engineering teams.
- Cookordination construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, commissioning, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Provide support for Sustaining engineering, Service and Maintenance of products and projects. Train Aggreko personnel such as field technicians and engineers to install and commission AMSS products.
- Travel 50% +
Who you are
- Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (ABET accredited or approved equal. Electrical, Mechanical, or others with energy industry work experience).
- 2+ years field experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems and 1+ field experience in hybrid energy systems (PV, Gas, Diesel, BESS, transmission, distribution, etc).
- Experience in electrical safety and hazard awareness.
- Knowledge of large scale battery energy storage systems and related components (e.g. DC battery systems, inverter technology, transformers and switchgear, grid access, low voltage auxiliaries, HVAC design, enclosures).
- Experienced in planning, commissioning and decommissioning of electrical power systems equipment.
- Availability to travel to support business needs and for training and in possession of valid local Driving License as per the need of the business.
