GE HealthCare Field Engineers keep medical imaging equipment running so hospitals and clinics can deliver care. This entry-level role is based in Hawaii.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-time, accurate Preventative Maintenance on one or more imaging modalities.
- Follow all Field Modification Instructions and Instrument Service Information bulletins.
- Assist experienced Field Engineers with equipment installation, basic troubleshooting, and service repairs on designated equipment.
- Communicate effectively with teammates, colleagues, and customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, driving customer satisfaction.
- Partner with customers to recommend value-added services that improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain customer service logs, internal service records, order repair parts, and manage cycle times.
- Utilize the GEHC escalation process and collaborate with regional and national support to implement corrective action plans for timely issue resolution.
- Serve as a member of the account community for key accounts, engaging with commercial counterparts to identify sales leads and participate in revenue programs.
- Focus on customer needs, building and enhancing relationships to become a trusted partner in their business.
- Stay updated on competitor information and market trends.
- Answer service calls independently within one year of employment.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of experience servicing electronic equipment.
- Experience with web applications and Microsoft Office products.
- Must comply with GEHC’s standard background check, including a post-offer drug test, and adhere to all customer access policies (e.g., proof of required immunizations, additional drug tests, or background checks, including federal government background checks if assigned to support a federal contract).
Special Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, and sitting/standing for long periods.
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and maintain good hand and finger dexterity.
- Specific vision abilities required: color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Willingness to be available “after hours” or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage.
Quality-Specific Goals
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Complete all planned Quality, EHS, and Compliance training.
Pay
For U.S.-based positions, the pay range is $60,000–$90,000 annually. Compensation decisions depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
