Field Electrician – Arc Flash Evaluations, LIM & ATS Testing

About the role

Guidant Power provides arc flash evaluations, infrared inspections, and electrical safety training to industrial, commercial, and healthcare clients nationwide. Since 2011, we have completed thousands of evaluations and inspections for well-known companies in healthcare, energy, and manufacturing. We are now hiring a Data Collector to help make workplaces safer.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites to conduct arc flash evaluations
• Open equipment and record equipment information via photos, paper, and electronic means
• Read and understand one-line drawings and make edits to create accurate as-built drawings
• Test and document performance of Line Isolation Monitor (LIM) and Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) equipment following established procedures and customer requirements
• Utilize online document storage to retrieve and upload data, as well as spreadsheets to enter information
• Communicate with engineering and the customer to answer questions and ensure accuracy
• Apply labels to electrical equipment
• Conduct yourself professionally at all times, acting as the company's interface with customers
• Observe and inquire about other opportunities where the company may be able to help

Requirements

• 480V 3-phase factory, hospital, or data center experience
• Prior industrial electrical experience
• Experience working in well-run industrial facilities, hospitals, or data centers
• Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams
• Ability to identify components within the electrical distribution system and describe how they function
• Experience opening live equipment to record data
• Attention to detail, clear communication, and adherence to strict safety and operational procedures
• Efficiency, ability to manage time effectively, understanding of limitations, and asking for help when necessary

Qualifications

• Industrial experience (prior experience with arc flash evaluations, LIM, or ATS preferred, or an electrical engineering degree)
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
• Ability to work efficiently on laptops and tablets, proficiency with applications like Google Drive, spreadsheets, Google Photos, and PDF files
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills working in a small, highly focused, and interactive team

Skills

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk, stand, and crawl for extended periods
• Reside in the USA
• Not currently providing employment visa sponsorship
• This is a 100% travel position

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
