KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute national field medical strategy, including territory design, deployment models, and scientific engagement plans.
- Recruit, scale, and directly manage approximately 5-7 MSLs, fostering a culture of coaching, mentoring, and high performance.
- Establish and maintain field excellence standards, including performance frameworks and KPIs.
- Personally engage in the field as a credible scientific peer, driving compliant scientific exchange with HCPs.
- Lead identification, mapping, and tiering of KOLs and high-impact clinicians.
- Coeown the medical insights process, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Build field medical infrastructure to support product launch and future indications.
- Partner cross-functionally with medical, commercial, and clinical teams for launch planning.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry guidelines governing scientific exchange.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- PharmD, MD, or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline required; candidates with a master's degree and substantial field medical leadership experience will be considered.
- 8+ years in Medical Affairs at a pharmaceutical or biotech company, with meaningful field medical leadership experience.
- Demonstrated track record of recruiting, hiring, building, scaling and managing MSL teams.
- Strong scientific credibility and ability to engage at a high level with KOLs and academic clinicians as well as community-based practitioners.
- Hands-on familiarity with MSL excellence standards, compliant scientific exchange, and field insights processes.
- Experience engaging both specialist and primary care audiences across health systems and community settings is highly desirable.
- Preferably, experience in smoking cessation, nicotine dependence, or an adjacent therapeutic area (pulmonology, cardiology, perioperative, oncology, acute medicine).

TRAVEL
- Approximately 50-60% travel required, including field engagement, team oversight, congresses, and key external meetings.
