Field Diesel Mechanic
About the role
As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. Responsibilities
- Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
- Travel to customer job sites for repair and maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
- Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.
- Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools (5+ years for French role).
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
- Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines (and understanding of schematics/diagrams for French role).
- Must own tools applicable to the position.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
Field Service Tech III - Fluid Solutions
As a Field Mechanic – Pump (Service Tech III - Field Service), you’ll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment, specializing in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of dryers and pumps.
Responsibilities
- Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Travel to customer job sites for repair and maintenance of rental equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
- Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.
