About the role
Flock Safety is seeking a Field Deployment Specialist to support the nationwide deployment of our Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program. This is a highly travel-intensive, field-based role focused on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting DFR systems across the U.S.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites (up to 100%) to install, maintain, and support DFR systems
- Conduct site assessments to confirm power, mounting, connectivity, and access requirements
- Install and configure hardware including cameras, drone docks, and supporting infrastructure
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues in the field
- Complete installation documentation, including photos, notes, and service records
- Work with internal teams to resolve issues and improve field operations
- Communicate effectively with customers during installation and support activities
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards and applicable codes
Requirements
- Experience with drone systems, surveillance technology, or public safety environments
- Experience in field-based work, such as construction, low-voltage installation, telecommunications, or similar technical environments
- FAA Part 107 Certification or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively, including possession of acceptable identification for TSA air travel (e.g., REAL ID or passport)
- Familiarity with MacOS, Windows, or Android
- Experience in a customer-facing field service role
- Basic understanding of networking, electrical systems, and mechanical assembly
- Ability to work independently or in small groups while managing tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Comfortable working outdoors and at elevated heights (ladders, lifts, rooftops)
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (75+ lbs)

- Live within 60 miles of a major airport
- Associate and/or bachelor degree preferred
