About Feanix Bio

Feanix is rebuilding animal breeding from the genome up. We use whole-genome sequencing and custom machine learning models to help dairy farmers make smarter breeding and herd management decisions. Our technology is novel: we can sequence a full genome from a single hair at a fraction of the industry cost, our models achieve ~90% accuracy on traits where the industry averages ~30%, and we’re the first to predict farm-specific performance. Our investors include Initialized Capital, General Catalyst, Collab Fund, Overwater Ventures, and YC. We started with dairy because our founders grew up on dairy farms, but genetics is a core pillar of every agricultural industry, and we’re just getting started.

About The Role

You will be a key contributor focused on improving farmer outcomes by turning herd and reproductive data into clear, actionable recommendations. You’ll work directly with the CEO and founders and serve as the primary internal support specialist for the organization. This position is remote with a preference for California based candidates and requires 75% travel within the United States.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary scientific and technical advisor for assigned farms
  • Visit customer farms to review herd performance, reproductive outcomes, and breeding strategies
  • Help producers understand and implement genomic recommendations
  • Build trusted relationships with farm owners, managers, nutritionists, veterinarians, and breeding advisors
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes through genetics, reproduction, and management practices
  • Provide feedback from the field to help improve Feanix products and recommendations
  • Analyze farm-level data to evaluate conception rates and identify trends over time
  • Identify and diagnose data issues, provide clear explanations and corrective guidance to farmers

What You Bring

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Dairy Science, Animal Science, Genetics, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge of dairy farming operations, herd management, and reproductive metrics
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and statistical methods, including identifying outliers in biological/agricultural datasets
  • Track record of designing and running structured experiments or research studies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex findings for non-technical audiences
  • Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Here’s What Else Might Help You Out

  • Experience or strong interest in using AI, LLMs, and modern data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, ChatGPT/Claude)
  • Prior customer-facing or farmer-advisory experience within the dairy industry
  • Familiarity with livestock genetics, genomic data, or reproductive biotechnology
  • Startup experience or comfort with ambiguity and building processes from scratch
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time within the United States

Why You’ll Enjoy Working With Us

  • The People - we have an amazing group of talented, smart, and fun people on our team!
  • The Company - we are building something novel that has not been done before which is making a huge impact on the dairy industry!
  • The Experience - you get to come in and be a part of groundbreaking work that will have a huge impact on generations to come!
