Field CTO - Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking a visionary Field CTO to serve as a trusted advisor to our most strategic prospects and customers. This role requires a deep understanding of Process Intelligence, Agentic AI, and Enterprise Modernization, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable technical strategies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives, aligning their long-term strategic goals with Celonis' technical vision.
• Lead the data, cloud, and innovation strategy for our largest global accounts, utilizing methodologies like Capability Mapping to identify high-value opportunities.
• Architect "first-of-a-kind" solutions using emergent technologies like Agentic AI to solve complex enterprise challenges.
• Partner with Sales and Value Engineering to drive revenue through new customer acquisition and strategic up-selling.
• Act as a critical feedback loop between our Product & Engineering teams and the market, ensuring the voice of the customer shapes our future offerings.
• Develop and deliver customer-facing position papers, assets, and presentations that establish Celonis as a leader in architecture and innovation.

Qualifications

• 15 to 20 years of relevant experience, ideally having served as a CTO at a consulting firm, as Field CTO at a software vendor, or Director/VP of Enterprise Architecture within a major corporation.
• Proven track record of presenting complex technical visions to C-suite stakeholders in a way that emphasizes business value.
• Deep experience in Enterprise Modernization, EA Methodologies, and a robust understanding of Agentic AI.
• Ability to pivot from high-level architecture diagrams to hands-on demo.
• Excellent background in Data Architecture, API ecosystems, and cloud-native SaaS solutions like Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Strong domain expertise in Financial Services.
• MSc degree in Computer Science or an equivalent IT-related field.
• PREFERRED TECH STACK: Celonis, OCPM and Case Centric Data Pipelines.
• PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS: TOGAF/Zachmann, AWS/Azure/GCP, and ESB/ETL certifications (e.g., Mulesoft, Informatica).
• Experience across at least two domains (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) and two industries (e.g., Pharma, Banking, Aerospace).

Pay

The base salary range for this role in New York, based on a Full Time Schedule, is $191,000—$255,000 USD. Total compensation includes base salary, bonus/commission, equity, and benefits.
