Field Crew Chief

About the Role

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a people-focused, award-winning, full-service consulting firm offering civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying, and construction support. This opening is for a Field Crew Chief to assist with Survey projects in the Mansfield, OH office.

Responsibilities

• Lead a one or two-person field crew
• Use Robotic Total Stations, GPS, and data collectors
• Perform and oversee field work for topographic, boundary, roadway, and ALTA Surveys
• Conduct property legal research both online and at County government offices
• Upload and download data collector files
• Check field files and notes for accuracy and completeness

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with processing topographic, boundary, and ALTA Surveys using AutoCAD/Civil 3D or OpenRoads Designer (preferred but not required)
• Experience preparing construction staking materials, including point files (preferred but not required)
• Knowledge of Trimble Robotic Total Stations and GNSS data collection (preferred)
• Some experience with AutoCAD or Civil3D (preferred)
• Professional Surveyor license in Ohio not required; MSG supports professional growth and will assist qualified candidates in obtaining their license

Travel may be required based on client needs.
