Field Crane Tech-A Mechanic

About the role

MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks at the Lee's Summit branch for MGX Equipment Services. This position reports to the Service Manager.

Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days of continuous service, and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify.

Responsibilities

• Light diagnosis, repair, and troubleshooting of various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes.
• Accomplish tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
• Properly fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
• Mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics; ability to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (e.g., oil changes, brake jobs).
• May be required to travel to job sites and for training up to 50% of the time.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Experience working with different forms of mobile crane and/or heavy equipment is a plus.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.
